Hey there, I'm Nick - nice to meet you.
A bit about me -
I was born in a regional country town in Australia with, at the time of the last census (those are still a thing, right?) a population of 887 people. Total.
Anyway, I grew up spending my summer breaks inside writing short stories and mostly to keep occupied, but in all honesty I was avoiding the alternative of melting away in the heat outside. At first, writing for me started out as something of a hobby since I had my mind set on becoming a real estate agent.
Or travel agent...or one of the twelve other jobs I thought I wanted to do back then.
It wasn't until I got one of the only A+ grades on a writing assignment in English class that I knew I wanted to be a writer, as overused as that cliche' that is. I realized I could be anything I wanted, just in another way and through other people by writing stories about them. I started taking creative writing and filmmaking courses, getting as far as entering a local film festival.
Let's just say my writing abilities have come along way since then.
After graduating high school, I moved to New York City to study filmmaking. From that, I decided writing would be my focus and I took whatever survival job I could to make that a reality.
Fast forward to now, I currently live in Los Angeles with my husband, two shed-heavy pets and an ever expanding, never getting smaller TBR pile.
I am currently seeking representation for my YA contemporary novel SOMEWHERE IN BETWEEN and children's picture book THE SAND WITCHES.
